Tortured Kingdom
A world swallowed by darkness and madness because it's mightiest hero failed a single quest. Darkness itself is feared; just
a touch of darkness can turn any living thing into an evil,
twisted version of itself: a Wraith.
Each night, the survivors must seal themselves in a carefully
lighted room. Even a heavy shadow is enough to spawn a Wraith.
The leader of the failed quest, Joval, inadvertantly spawned
some of the most powerful Wraiths. After the failure of the
quest, he could not bear to return to his homeland and the princess
to whom he was betrothed. He wandered aimlessly, his identity
a secret. He started having dreams of a mysterious woman and
in the dreams, he gave in to his desires and made love with
her.
This mysterious woman, Aethe, is a minion of Aakaia. The lovemaking
in the dreams with Joval has spawned Knight Wraiths; creatures
with the fighting ability of Joval who obey Aethe's every command.
