Golden City
Tens of thousands of workers - slaves taken from conquered lands, criminals forced to work off their sentences - have given their lives to build King Tarahk's Golden City. It is complete and the King is finished with the workers. They are to be cast aside like tools that are no longer needed. But at the dedication ceremony, he is attacked by a mysterious force linked to the religion being adopted by the workers. Now is son and heir, Prince Cenove, must choose between betraying his beliefs to save his father, or let him die and become king.
"Cenove's Choice", a brand new, original story written by Resa Nelson.
In the twilight of his life, the reign of
King Tarahk has finally culminated in the construction of
his dream: a sprawling, Golden City, a testament to his power.
In order to construct a city of such magnitude, thousands of people
were enslaved. The King's subjects were pressed into
service. Criminals were sentenced to hard labor. Neighboring
lands were conquered and their peoples forced into servitude.
And now they are idle, bored, resentful. The perfect opportunity
for Qujul, the leader of a cult that teaches outlawed black
arts.
